COVID-19: PCORI-funded study to assess antimalarial drug's ability to prevent coronavirus infection

(Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute) The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) will fund development of a registry and large-scale study of the effectiveness of the antimalarial drug hydroxychloroquine to prevent COVID-19 infection in US healthcare workers. Duke Clinical Research Institute will build a healthcare worker community registry and conduct a rapid-turnaround randomized trial powered by PCORnet®, the PCORI-funded health research network.
